Gray Gables, a towering Chazy landmark and a historic 6 story property was built by local millionaire William H. Miner in the 1920s. It is a unique building erected at the same time as the original Chazy school directly across the street. Gray Gables used to house the teachers and their families. This mastodonte offers 37,281 sq ft and is built like a tank! The locals say that the company that tried to tear down the original school went bankrupt; that's how well-built it is. There is a 1 Million BTU boiler in the large building. There is also an ice house on the river side of the property where they would harvest the ice in the winter and store it underneath the cement floor for the summer months. There are 2 elevators. Gray Gables is offered for sale to the public for the first time since the 1980s.
